First things first: Meal time and Table talk

Discussions at meal time, when children are relaxed, help the child make sense of their day. The children are seated in small groups with a tutor who leads the discussion. Topics are pre-planned but allowed to develop spontaneously because kids will be kids.

Next: Individual study and guided learning time

Our bellies are full and we've had a laugh, now time to get down to some practise of our numeracy and literacy skills. Worksheets and individual activities are tailor-made for each child with an end goal in mind. These are based on their assessed level and so they are allowed to work at their pace. Our resident qualified teacher is on hand to guide and help whilst still encouraging risk-taking. This time can also be used to complete homework, and for reading in the quiet corner.

And now: Group games and fun activities that aid learning

These specially designed activities increase Financial literacy and World Knowledge. The purpose of this is to help children get a better understanding of their place in society and of how the world works. At the same time their numeracy and literacy skills as well as other soft skills are being enhanced.
