Your Questions Answered

I am at work all day, how does my child get from school to your venue?

We pick up from selected schools (listed on the registration form) and bring them over to our venue at no added cost to you. We may charge a small fee in cases where we need to pick up from schools further away. In other cases, you may have to make your own arrangements. Please contact us and we will do our best to get your child to us.

Can I choose what subject areas I’d like you to focus on with my child?

Yes you can specify whether you want us to focus on improving numeracy or literacy but please note that on Mondays we alternate between numeracy and literacy. On Tuesdays we focus on numeracy and on Wednesdays we focus on literacy.

Can my child attend just the tuition part of the session?

Yes! Parents that would like their children to get academic support after school but not stay for the whole programme can attend from 4pm to 6pm at a reduced rate. They too will receive tailor-made worksheets weekly which will be marked and feedback given, and parents will be informed of their child’s progress. Parents must be available to drop off and pick up from our venue. Finally, we would ask that you register before attending.

I don't want 'heavy' tuition though I like the idea of structure and a learning environment.

That’s great. We are with you there!!! That's what Learntree is about.

Do you follow the National Curriculum?

Yes we reinforce topics that are covered in the National Curriculum for your child’s Keystage and more.

How will you keep me informed of my child's progress?

We give you weekly written online feedback sent to you by our off-site Manager. You can contact us via email and mobile if you would like to discuss further.

Where do you get your worksheets and other resources from?

We use a wide range of resources including those created by our main teacher. Our resources are tailor made to suit your child's needs, whether it is for improving skills, taking your child to the next level, or for preparing for an entrance exam.

What do I do if I want private tuition for my child?

If you would like private tuition in Maths or Economics please contact us by phone or email to discuss.

How much does it cost to attend?

Standard After school care rates range from £16 - £18 and are open from 3.30 - 6pm. We include individual academic support, a meal, structured learning activities, and feedback to parents. Charges start from £25 a session.

How many days do you suggest I sign my child up for?

We suggest 2 to 3 days a week to attend depending on your requirements. For instance, if your child requires numeracy, literacy and homework support, we would recommend 3 days. Ultimately, it is your decision. We are happy to discuss this with you and to suggest what is most appropriate for your requirements.

What is your booking and payment schedule?

Bookings can be made at any time. Monthly payments are required to ensure your child’s place for the school year (Sept to July). One-off and emergency bookings will be accepted provided there are spaces available and we are given sufficient notice.

When and how do I register and pay?

Please follow the link to register your child. We will contact you after receiving your registration form to arrange payment.

Do I need to provide a packed lunch for my child?

No, you do not need to provide a packed lunch as we will provide a light meal or sandwiches, snacks and drinks. We aim to keep the centre nut-free.

What sort of discussions will you have during Circle Time?

The Table talk discussions are designed to build on some soft skills.  Our topics are pre-planned to be age-appropriate and suited to the children as we get to know them more. They include ice-breaker quizzes and simple questions that require reflection; for instance “tell us about a struggle you faced today”, “tell us something you are grateful for”

Who runs Learntree?

Learn Tree is owned by Ebiere Bolu. There is also an on-site manager who deals with the day to day running on the sessions.

What happens if my child misses a session?

We have a fixed number of  places a day. We therefore ask that places are booked and paid for monthly so that your child’s place is reserved. As activities, staff and resources are planned based on the specific children booked, we are unable to give refunds for missed sessions. In particular circumstances we might be able to put your child into another session that week if a space is available.

What is your cancellation and returns policy?

If you would like to cancel your booking please let us know by the 3rd Friday of the month. We do not offer refunds after the session has been paid for, but we can book future sessions on an ad hoc basis if you wish to do so. Also, refunds cannot be given for sessions already attended. Always talk to us about your specific situation and we will do our best to meet your needs where we can.

Do you have a safeguarding policy?
